San-Lee Park

Over the hills and far away...
Well, today we went to a park that was over some hills, but not too far away.  It's called San-Lee Park.
I'm nearly certain the name comes from "Sanford" (the city) and "Lee" (the county).
As is the case with many others this park has multiple bike and hiking trails, ponds (two of them), picnic areas, and some other stuff.  I think it's a pretty good place for nature lovers and hikers, as well as anybody who likes the scenery or anything else the place has to offer.
Next to a bridge over one pond (one pond feeds into the other), there is a wooden walkway and an "entrance" to the upper pond, which is a good place to try skipping stones.
If you're messed up like me and don't really care for hiking, camping, fishing and all that outdoor stuff (although I'm not sure if you can camp and fish there), too bad; I guess this park's not for you.  Go find another one where you can play soccer or something.

Our firstborn turns 18

Maximillian Joel Richter has survived living with his parents for 18 years!  Not only that, he's indispensable to the Richter household.

Thank you, Max, for being a blessing.  You know that we love you, no matter how often we sigh and groan when we discuss issues.  But in case you ever forget, I love you.  Baba says he loves you, too.  :)

Happy Birthday, dear Max!

What is this world coming to?

The last time we went to KFC I asked for some honey or butter to go with my biscuit, they they replied of course, and gave me this...stuff...after reading for a while I decided to pass.

Isaiah 7:15 Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good.

I don't think he had this in mind

John Huss

John Huss was very important to the Reformation of Europe. John Huss's father died when Huss was very young. Huss wanted to purify the church of his time. With the help of a rich nobleman John Huss's mother was able to school him. And when he was 34 he was the Rector of Prague University. Many thought he was truly a messenger from god. But the Archbishop of Prague burned his books. The pope put Huss in prison and he was soon after burned at the stake

How to start a fire

To day I went to My Pastors house to help with clear/clean around his pond.
It had a lot of Trees around it and in it, thorns, and junk.
I was there to clean it with some others who had come to help.
There were a lot of trees but James brought two chain saws, a hitch, a two ropes, and a chain.
So we (Max, Josiah, and I) got up at 6:30 and met some others at Mcdonalds who were going too. At Mcdonalds it snowed and kept on snowing until we got The Breagys house.
When we got there we went in side for a second and then got to work. First we cut down trees, brush, and Max swung at some thorns.
The weather was perfect except that is was a little windy (for some reason everyone else thought it was freezing, I usually was in a teeshirt there and they were bundled).
After we cleaned around the pond we loaded the trees high on to a kind of flat rope (with loops on each end) or a chain and tied or looped one end so that we could pull it with a truck to the pile, sometimes we rode the trees and that was fun.
After that we Went in for lunch (Mrs. Breagy made some really good tacos) and read proverbs 25 due to it being the 25th.
At about 4:30 P.M. we had gathered most of tree trees and piled them on top of the first little fire (which was now just a pile of smoking coals) James lit the bonfire with a paper plate after soaking some of it old diesel fuel mixed with oil.
After the fire had burned down, and the grass around it we roasted marshmallows and had s'mores.
When I got home I was exhausted and went to bed right after devotions.

The second movie didn't load I'll try to get it on later

John Wycliffe

John Wycliffe went to the Oxford University in the 14th century, when He was about 16 years old. He wrote about the great plague in 1349 it was called Black Death because it killed of a third of the population. The worship of images and relics he said was foolishness and He denounced the pope as Antichrist. Near the end of his life he made a group of people called the poor priests or preachers. And died on the last day of 1384.

Peter Waldo

Peter Waldo lived in France early in the 12th century.  He was a merchant.  By the grace of God he was saved, and formed a group of people that were later called the Waldenses.  They preached the Gospel wherever they went.  Soon they were persecuted and many of them were killed.  So they fled to in the southern alps.

An enlighting book

Today I just finished a book called What the Bible Says About Healthy Living written by Rex Russell, M,D. It had many good points, but the main one that we all tend to forget or ignore is in
Proverbs14:12, " There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death."

The books points are
  1. Eat the foods God created for you
  2. Don't alter God's design
  3. Don't let any food or drink become your god
The foods that God originally said were clean for his chosen people were for their health and would benefit them.
Now we will still be Christians if we eat the foods that were unclean but most likely we will have an unpleasant result such as a parasite, virus, or just get sick because the foods that God had declared unclean had a nature that was unclean.
The catfish purifies water by taking all the impurities that are in the water and keeping them, so if you ate that catfish you would have just eaten all of the yucky stuff that the catfish ate. Gross...
And that would go for other animals such as rabbits. Rabbits are the main cause of tularemia (an infectious disease) in humans.
And the most commonly consumed animal, the pig, hog, swine, whatever you want to call it, eat anything and don't stop ever. They will continue to eat, and eat until their stomach acids are so diluted that they can't filter out any parasites, bacteria, viruses. Even when they are butchered, and throughly cooked they still retain most of their tape worms, wire worms. Pigs have eaten Philadelphia's garbage and sewage for more than 100 years, saving the city $3million a year in landfill costs. So again gross. Taste isn't everything.

We just got our windshield replaced

Last week our windshield got a crack in it. We didn't know how it got there, but one of the guys inspecting it said a rock hit it.
So today another guy came and replaced the windshield.
First the guy took a knife and cut some of the rubber protectant off, then he used a metal stick with a razor blade, and cut off all of the stuff on the top and sides, then took what looked like a putty smoother attached to a mini jackhammer and attacked the inside of the the glass and cracked it even more, and while doing this he broke our side pocket on the inside of the driver side door(he said in couple days someone would come and replace it)
After he finally got it off he put some black paint on the places where he scratched it, and some caulking\glue and then put the new windshield and every thing else that he took off back on. Our auto insurance took care of it, but if we didn't it would of cost $275.

February-25-2010 A another Man came and replaced the part of the van door that the first man broke. The receipt said that it would of cost $244.64 if we had broke it.
